We are thrilled to have Meghan join our Charlotte staff team as our Support Line Coordinator! Meghan will oversee and facilitate the intake process of our families in need who reach out to Alongside Families. She will also be building a team of Support Line volunteers in the coming months to serve as first responders on our Support Line. She will be making sure that the entire intake process runs smoothly for our volunteers and families that we are serving.
Here's an introduction from Meghan to all of you in our Alongside Families family!
I am excited to join Alongside Families having worked in local church ministry for a decade and prior to that in the NC Public School System for a decade in a variety of roles serving diverse populations of students. I hold both my BA and M.Ed. in General, Adaptive and Special Education and have extensive experience supporting families and students performing evaluations, referrals, tailoring interventions and determining appropriate services. Having personal experience with many of the crisis situations the families in need are experiencing, I hope to bring a story of hope and a spirit of encouragement to all I encounter. My life has been shaped greatly by the work of the amazing people in the local Church. My life goal is simple, I long to share with others (albeit imperfectly) the unconditional love and purpose-filled life available to all of us through Jesus.
I live in Davidson, North Carolina with my husband, who is a support pastor and local business owner. Together we have four children and attend Mecklenburg Community Church, where I was baptized and where we have been attending for eighteen years.
